The "I don't know what to do" Friday night

04.07.08
Esplanade
Chilling out

Well, I guess we are all sick of clubbing, pubbing, ktv-ing.. if not, who would buy red wine from 7-Eleven and drink along Esplanade?!

LOL. Yah.. as you all can tell, we are simply bored and don't know what to do.. Anyway, I was busy trying out my new Lumix camera for taking night shots without flash. Well, ended with noisy photos (because adjusted ISO is too high) or blurred photos (shutter-priority is the best for night shots but would need a pair of steady hands if not a tripod). What so ever, out of the many.. below are the few OK shots that I've took. Haha.. really still quite bad..

Obviously.. I still more practice with my camera. =D

Zhong Liang's BD

15.03.08
Saturday
Zhong Liang's 23th birthday
Sushi Tei @ raffles City for dinner
Pool Junction (KTV Pub) for drinks

Alright, this is my 2nd time here. I'd say I simply loves the food serves here. Although the price is steeper compared to the economical Sakae Sushi, but I think it's so worth it. I had Cha Soba and mini salmon don for my dinner. The soba taste so good! Must try if you are also a soba lover. The sashimi here is also very yummy, thick and fresh. *drools..

We had a japanese food feast. They have many choices to choose from.. Look at teh delicious food!

Last minute got a mini cake for Zhong Liang.. Happy Birthday!

We really cam-whore everywhere we go.. this is taken on the escalator.. ><''
Now.. in the lift..

.. Along the corridor of raffles city..

After having a satisfying dinner, we headed to Pool Junction for drinks..

Look at the boozes..

A birthday treat.. some flaming drinks.. not lambogini though.. *gross

The rapper of the night.. LOL.

The following lower quality photos are taken using LG Viewty phone..

Zhong Liang and the girls..

Well, as much as anyone would guess, the night ended with a drunken. Who ELSE?? Of course the birthday boy! Shots, beers and mixers.. such a gross mix.. Of course Zhong Liang spent the later part of the night puking.. Haha.. Still, Happy Birthday to you. Hope you still enjoy the night.. =)

Chesty Nutty Bang Bang!!!

01.02.08
Friday
'Hairspray Phoenix' by Chesty Nutty Bang Bang @ Drama Theatre (inside National Library)

It's my first time buying tickets to watch a local play. Well, it's the comedy stand up by the Chestnuts. It has guest starring like Joakim Gomez, Celine Rosa Tan, and the female lead of the Singapore hit Getai movie 881, Yeo Yan Yan. Of course not missing out the ''home team'' in Chestnuts. At first, I got totally no clue what this play is about, only to watch it as the group name sounds funny. So I reckon it might be a funny play. Futhermore, the best seating of this play is only at 40 bucks. So I thought it's pretty worth it. =p

'Hairspray Phoenix' by Chesty Nutty Bang Bang is a crazy show that spoofs everyone and everything, from Hollywood movies to the Singapore political scene. It's the collecting of material happens all year round, where events are highlighted and poked fun at. Yes, sacastically and funnily. However, as many of the sketches are referenced to movies, advertisements and news of past year.. So if you missed out on many big movies last year, you would find yourself catching no balls.

I was lucky as I've catched most of the movies that they referenced with, ie. X-men, Harry Potter, The Lust, Hairspray, 881, etc etc.. Some parts of the play was unexpectedly funny. Me and my friends were almost falling off the chair when they translate ''Umbrella'' by Rihanna in full Hokkien song! ''Hor sua, hor sua, hor hor hor... chi ki xio hor sua..'' Gosh, it was so damn funny! I nearly teared at that part! Overall, I'd rate my 1st virgin play a score of 7/10. =)

Below are some of the photos that we took..

Drama Centre @ Natianal Library

When the play ended, we walked to have our dinner cum supper..

Checking out our chinese horoscope..

Yum Yum!

After eating, we gathered to watch the 'new year resoultion' video that we took at Keith's house during new year.

We realised that we wore in pairs the same colour tone coincidentally! The purples.. Me & Liwen

The blacks... Keith & Adam

The pinks.. Derrick & Zhongliang

Oh ya! Btw, Happy Chinese New Year to all who is reading my blog! Hope you all had a splendid year ahead! Gong Xi Fa Cai!

Pulau Ubin

13.01.08
Sunday
Pulau Ubin

Finally! i'm here to blog abt my Ubin trip. That day.. I was really really late! Sorry guys.. Really sorry..Plus it doesn't help that I lived in the freaking west.. ><'' Ok.. need to compliment Adam..He was so so ON TIME that day.. The usual late king turning on a new leaf? =) That day got a new person that joined us.. Adam's cousin, Jason.

We're on the bump boat to Ubin. Can tell that Augustus already become very tired while waiting for me.. =(

Pulau Ubin

The map before our adventure.. when we realised that the information of the map is so brief that it wasn't helpful at all. I was hoping to look for the ''Ma Zu'' temple which I vividly recalled the swing hanging at the big tree facing the sea. It was such a nice place that after years ago, I still remember that place. Too bad, that day we got no luck.. We didn't manage to find that temple..

We set off to grab a bicycle each. The rental of bicycles was really cheap. Ranging from 6 bucks to 12 bucks..

Really to set off!

We cycle an half an hour or less to reach Chek Java. But we didn't walked in.. as it was already high tide then.. Haiz.. Plus considering the distance to walk in.. we start to have second thoughts!

The retro pose.. Haha

Alright.. with the help of my better bicycle but weak legs.. this uphill is still killing me! I gotta walk up instead of cycling..!

This is what is nice abt Ubin..

I love flat paths..

This shot is quite nice.. =) By Adam..

The usual accident that will happen during cycling.. Bicycle chain coming off.. And we simply hate it! Messy work..

What can be better than drinking a coconut in an hot afternoon? The juice is so sweet and the meat.. ooo.. so tender!

The yoga masters playing see-saw..

This is what I called see-saw! Don't understand what fun is left with nowadays see-saw? I guess is more probably for display.. -__-''

Adam seems to be an expert walking the string.. when..

whoops.. =x

2 big guys meddling with a small plaster.. when I was busy snapping photos..=p

Blackie. A dog that simply loves Keith..

I'm so scared of blackie.. =S

We also manage to find a swing here.. But it was really too small for us!

Me and Jason

Ok.. serious.. I'm really the spoiler of the pic.. Always on the wrong timing.. @*()*()IQUJEHF*#@$^&@(#&

The sky starts to turn really dark and cloudy! Luckily, were already on our way back!

We were all famished and tired by then. Look at the guys.. no one wanna look at the camera..

From Ubin back to the mainland

We end our day having some light dinner at a shop selling nice pies, which is located at White Sands shopping mall. I had earl grey with chicken puffs. I'd say say it's really quite good! Worth a try.. =)

The chicken pies..

Oh man.. serious.. I remember I was so so tired! Perhaps my work load has been really heavy lately.. plus haven't been exercising for a while. Back to ubin to cycle becomes really a challenge! I fell asleep when I was on bus. I fell asleep while waiting for Keith and Adam at library while they borrowing their books. I fell asleep when I was the train back to the west. LOL.

YES.. in short..I WAS TIRED..

But I'd say that it was really fun! I always love to cycle. Perhaps I used to cycle very frequently with my family in the past. Perhaps it's just a habit I cultivated when I'm young. I like the feeling of wind blowing at my face. And cycling at ubin is extra fun.

Yea.. the paths there are far more rocky and full of slopes. Although cycling up a slope can really be a pain, but the enjoyment that you get to enjoy when going down slope is definately worth it. I guess the more efforts you put in, the sweeter the rewards will be. Don't you all agree? =)

The next visit, I'd definately want to go back to Ubin to look for the ''Ma Zu'' temple and go back to check out the Chek Java!
Wait for me!
