Feel?

"No one can explain how the notes of a Mozart Melody, or a folds of a Titan's drapery, prduce their essential effects. If you do not feel it, no one by reasoning make you feel it. "

- John Ruskin, Mordern Painters

I like how the above simple 2 lines explained what I've always felt as an Interior Designer. Preferences and the judegement of asthetics varies in everyone's eyes. The most challenging part of my my job? That has to be it.

Sacasam of life

An interesting quote I saw on an email:

We make them cry who care for us.
We cry for those who never care for us.
And we care for those who will never cry for us.

Sadly, the above quote might just be the truth. But once we realise it, it's never too late to change. =)

Well, just a penny for thoughts.

Texas Hold 'em Poker

Sometimes, life is just like a game of poker. You might have great cards at your hand. Thinking that you had high chances of gaming and winning the game, you raise the stakes high on every rounds. Who knows, another player comes in and game with a bigger combination than yours, sweeping away all the winnings.

But there's also times when you receive pleasent suprises. With 2 small cards in hand, with a little stroke of luck, you game the game big with Straight!

Well, of course there's times when we decided to fold the cards too early and only come to regret it when we sees the rest of the cards. Not only have you lost the pot of money, you have also lost the earlier stakes that you have thrown in.

It's hard to gauge the possibilities of winnings with just the 2 hole cards in hand. Cause there's just lies too much possibilities in the community cards below.

You will never know the outcome unless you see through the game.

Perhaps, it's the unknown that makes life more interesting, and that is what we are all living for. Yet, it's most probably the most vexing part of life that we can't avoid

Still, with that little hope in hand, aren't we all hoping to win the game? :)

*P.S. I just had a game of Texas hold 'em poker. It was great and fun!

Crossroad

I had a few friends asking me for the photos on my Chiang Mai's trip.. Sorry.. I think I'd post the updates of that once I've gotten back my photo disc. Currently is at my friend's custody! I had him to helped me add in the farewell powerpoint I did for the kids on our last night. Haha..

So well, just in case anyone is waiting.. I'm afraid the updates will have to come a little while longer.

At the same time.. I do have a news to share. Well, consider quite a good news for me. I had formally tendered my resignation at my former company. Hahaha.. wahahaha.. LOL. My last day would be on the 24.04.08..

Good news?

Alright, I'm really felt so relieve when I tendered the resignation. Although the letter was still not accepted by my boss.. but I do know that it's not an impulsive decision on my part. Of course I've felt flattered by the effort of what my company is doing to keep me. But I guess it's really time for me to move on after 2 1/2 yrs working here. I love working with the colleagues here.. however the long working hours is eating into my social life and is draining me off. N I do felt stagnant here. I've lost the drive and motivation..

There's many consideration I had in my mind of what to do after I leave here. However, I do not have any concrete plan yet. I guess I just need to take a break and think about what I really want. I do feel a bit lost here. But guess I'd have got things figured out soon! =)

Meanwhile, I do have many things I hope I can pick up. Like swimming, skating, doing some charity works.. catch up with friends and family... O well, in short.. GET A LIFE! I'm so looking forward for my long holidays!

I know I once again find myself at a crossroad where I had to make decisions (as much as I hated it!). But I figured out is not something that I can avoid or hide from. The best I can do is not to make impulsive decisions and start to regret later in my life..

Once again, I hope all my friends are doing well in all the aspects of life. You had the warm regards of the blur xuan! Take care!

regrets in life

I was talking to my colleague the other day.. when he actually share with me some interesting facts of lifes.. I find what he say to be very true.. and would like to share it with all of you..=)

I'm sure many of you should have find this situation familiar. ''What if... I say/do this.. Would things have change?'' Life is always full of many unknowns and that is also why, many of us find that we should have done things better if we know that whichever thing is going to happen. Yeap.. second chances. We all hope for that.

But the reality of life is.. many times there is no second chances. Opportunities only came once. Grab it or add on another item to your ''regret list''. That's it.

However, regret is not always a bad thing. Regret makes people reflect upon themselves. As regret often leaves an etching pain in the heart, we are often reminded not to make the same mistakes again. This is also how people improves over time..

STILL.. who would want to make regretful decisions? Especially we know how much pain it could bring..

It's a fact that life will be full of big and small regrets.. but it would be tiring to be carrying the baggage forever. Life still have to go on, isn't it? Since what done can never be undone, so there's not much use in pondering over and over again. What we can do here is to make sure that the same mistakes are never to be made again..Whatever the situation is, we still have to make the best out of it.

The most difficult and I'd say the most important skill to learn in life is ' knowing when to let go'. It's a tough thing to learn here.. but quoting from what my colleague says.. '' There is nothing in this world that is bigger than the blue sky above us?'' Can you all understand what he is trying to say here? Well, I hope so.. =)

We regret cause we thought we have lost these much. But hang on and look again... Who says you have not gotten some other things in exchange.. which might be more rewarding?

Well, my dear colleague manage to light some lights of mine that day.. and I hope it does to u too! >.<

Unpredictable life

20.12.07

Sometimes.. I really find life can be so unpredictable. I just went for a friend's grandma funeral. Going to another funeral reminded me of my own grandma's funeral. The first time when I've witness death..

I guess I can never forget that moment of losing my grandma.. when she's on the verge of passing away.. everyone's there, including me.. seems so helpless. The nurses, the doctor, my mum's, aunties, uncles, cousins.. can only stand at the side.. waiting for the moment to come. We all knew that we have to let her go. Because of her illness, she has been bedridden at the hosipital bed for months. She can't moved, only depending on the tubes hanging on her body. Moving on.. is only a blessing for her.

Life and death seems to be like a phase of life for all, isn't it?

Life can seems so weak at times, yet at times, it is so willfully strong.. there are people in every parts of the world, struggling to live.. wanting to live. I'm lucky, knowing that I've the strength and ability to help now... Maybe in the smallest possible way. =)

I've figured out the way to start is to start contributing in all small little kind deeds. Maybe, I should stop being a scary cat, and start my blood donation plan.. It has been dragging for way too long! It's a tough step for me, as I've always had a phobia in needle when I'm small. Well, the enormous needle is a really quite a big deal to me.. =X

Nevertheless, I've really wished that I could really conquer my fears and start being a regular donor. I also hope that more of my friends could take up the challenge for donating blood. Blood donations can save lifes. How meaningful is that!

I shall blog again when I've suceeded in my blood donation =)

Till then.. Take care folks!
